The MO-KAN GUZZI CLUB began as a small group of MOTO GUZZI motorcycle riders and enthusiasts living in eastern Kansas and western Missouri (in and around the Kansas City metro area). Since its inception in 1978, the club has been chartered by the M. G. N. O. C., and has broadened its horizons stretching into Iowa and parts of Arkansas, and Minnesota.
NOTE: President: Ace Malott is also MOTO GUZZI NATIONAL OWNERS CLUB'S Missouri State Rep.

The MO-KAN GUZZI CLUB WAS formed February 1978 in the Kansas City, Mo./Ks.area. Several Moto Guzzi
motorcycle enthusiasts had spent most of the fall and winter of 1977 contacting other Moto Guzzi owners in an attempt to form
the club. Some of those who worked to get the club started were, Ray Zoch (FIRST PRES.), Ed Haney, Cecil Wagers
(Sec. Pres.), Daryler Winget, Mike Harper and others. Ed Haney tells of Mike Harper furnishing names of Guzzi buyers then
him and Ray riding around K.C. in some pretty cold weather recruiting potential members. We became a charter member club
of the MOTO GUZZI NATIONAL OWNERS CLUB in the summer of 1978. Over the years the club has had
only 5 PRESIDENTS, with two holding offices for more than 8 years. Because the first members decided early that they wanted
to ride more than anything, they agreed to keep the By-Laws as short as possible, thus the By-Laws are a short list even today.
With a new president in or around 1990 the club started to have an annual club get-together in September of each year, this
has grown to a full fledged annual rally with Guzzi riders comming from all over the country to attend. Our area has expanded to
cover the Saint Joseph, Mo. and Wathena, Ks. area now, we also have members that live in Iowa.
CLUB BY-LAWS for 2008
When the club started it was agreed to try to keep it as simple as possible, with as few rules as possible and still maintain a successful and viable club. Consequently we have very few by-laws.
1. TO BECOME A ! MEMBER ! you must own a GUZZI that can sustain 60mph. for long periods of time.
(IF YOU DON'T OWN A MOTO GUZZI YOU CAN STILL JOIN BUT YOU ARE UNABLE TO VOTE!)
2. YOU MUST ATTEND THREE(3) club events, meetings, or rides, then the membership will vote you in or out!
3. DUES started out at $7.50 a motorcycle but went to $15.00 a family per year, since we now have the internet and e-mail it
has been possible to lower the dues to $10.00 per family per year.
3a. Added 2006, to become a MO-KAN GUZZI CLUB ! FRIEND ! and receive the newsletter for the year,
you must pay dues with NO VOTING PRIVILEGES.
3b. MO-KAN GUZZI CLUB ! GUESTS ! will receive the newsletter for three months the newsletters will stop unless 1 or
more events within that period have been attended.
That's the important short list..Thank you....The web/editor
CONTESTS and AWARDS
Since the club started we have had three contests, one was dropped in 2005 due to lack of interest.
1. Is the yearly MOTORCYCLE mileage contest.
HOW IT WORKS: Turn in your present odometer reading to the secretary upon joining or in January
if possible. Then in October/November turn in your odometer reading at that time. The secretary will
then determine who rode the most miles for that year. First, Second & third place announced at the
December Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner/party. IF YOU OWN MORE THAN ONE MOTORCYCLE PLEASE
TURN IN ALL ODOMETER READINGS AT THE SAME TIME....
2. The PRESIDENTS AWARD.
HOW IT WORKS: You need a camera for this one. Using the first letters of names of villages, towns or citys in Missouri
or Kansas, spell MO-KAN GUZZI CLUB. Photo's of your motorcycle in front of population sign, city sign or the
postoffice accepted. Award given at the next meeting or ride. Good Luck (finding 2 Z's) it can be done!
3. ACTIVITY AWARD.
DROPPED 2005: This worked well when we had meetings at different members homes, if you had a meeting then you
had to have a contest or game that had a winner, the person that won the most games/contests won the award that year.
